This fabric is created by three different Shibori (tying) techniques with three different dyeing colors (watch here) in Aichi, Japan known for its Narumi shibori technique. Narumi, a town near Nagoya, in Central Japan is famous for the historic tie dye technique which produces colorful fabrics for over 400 years. Every process is done by hand. The original Cotton/Linen base fabric makes this shibori fabric even more special.
Shibori is a technique expressed by tightly tying the fabric with yarn, and the entire processing is manual. The shape of each point is different depending on the hand. Since it is expressed by precise manual work, there are no two ways to get the same pattern.
